  • I have been dealing with a similar problem for about a month and have posted two messages asking for some support. So far, not even a comment.

We have no idea why the WP-Filebase file browser stopped working. We changed nothing.

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this? In essence the plugin has become useless. And I was about to ask my organization to contribute . . .

    Thank you.

Further, I did no realize that the same problem occurs where ever we have the file browser trying to display categories. The top category selected displayed but sub categories or files will not.

I see the same problem. The list is produced as:

    Lastname
    Firstname
    e-mail address

I would like it to be:

    Lastname, Firstname, e-mail address

    Thank you.

    Marco:

I think I understand what you are saying but I think your problem is different than mine. It appears you are dealing with posts where I am dealing with files.

Since the WP-Filebase categories should have meaning to my users I want a brief description to appear with the category name to guide the users to the files they want/need.

The order of display does not matter so much as long as they can get to the files they need.

Am I correct that you are dealing with something different?

    Thank you.

    kjodle

    That’s exactly what I want.

Either remember to enter the data or format the entry window that they are reminded or forced to enter the data.

I did install TinyMCE Advanced and was able to do basically what I wanted by entering a 1 x 2 table in my post. The trouble with that is I have to remember that for each post in that category.

Indeed that was the problem. I’ve got it working on all my machines now.

I surprised that no one replied to this, I thought it would have been a desirable change.

After looking around I found what I think it a workable solution. I edited the default template in the WP-Filebase categories and added the description to the code for the template.

That worked and I was even able to ‘style’ the presentation a bit with an HTML element.

However, I still don’t know where to select the template I want to replace the default template.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

I resolved this by editing the proper CSS file (I don’t remember which one) to set ‘remember me’ = ‘false’.

My ‘Private’ solution appears to work. That hides the posts from everyone except the administrators. When I login with a subscriber account the Administrator Record/Private posts are not there.

I think I’ve solved this. Ghostery is active on my FireFox installations. I added ww.wp.xz.cn as a permitted site and the problem went away. I’ll change it at home tonight.

    Thank you for the help.

I may have solved this on my own by looking at some pretty old posts in the forum.

I mark the posts as ‘Private’ and include them in the category ‘Administrator Record’. Initial testing indicates that this will hide them from subscribers while allowing administrators to see them and even aggregate them by clicking on the category name at the bottom of the post.

No, I have not. I will check that tonight to see if I can change the behavior at home. If that works I will try it here.

    Thank you.

The problem occurred from two different machines in two different locations. The browser is FireFox.

At your suggestion I used Chrome and it works. I have no idea why it doesn’t work with FireFox.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

I have the same situation. I would like to either:

    1. Completely remove the ‘Remember Me’ checkbox and text, or

    2. Have the ‘Remember Me’ checkbox default to unchecked.

    How do I do that?
