    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. Following our testing, we were unable to reproduce the issue, suggesting it may be specific to your installation.

Could you please try the plugin in a clean installation and report back?

Additionally, could you please specify whether this issue is exclusive to a particular group or page? This information will help us determine if the problem is related to a specific Jitsi room.

Finally, to assist you better, could you please provide the passed parameters of the plugin, either through group settings or short code parameters?

    Hi,

As it’s a free hosting service, there may be a traffic prioritization policy in effect during high traffic periods. We have just checked, and at this moment, we have not received any such notification. However, please be aware that there may be limitations beyond our control, and there’s nothing we can do to adjust this policy from our end.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

after further investigation, it seems that after the recent change in the default – hosted by 8×8 – Jitsi server users are starting a meeting without being moderators. As a consequence, if you set up a password your will get the error you reported. In case you have set up a password you can just remove it and you will stop getting that error.

You can still use the password functionality if you have your own Jitsi server.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

the plugin does not add any menu in the administration dashboard. All you have to do is either to create a new BuddyPress / BuddyBoss Group (you can enable the BuddyTask in the group creation wizard) or to add the [buddytask] short code in any WordPress page or post.

For more information please refer to the plugin page.

    Thanks,

    Hi again,

Thank you for your prompt reply. We attempted to replicate the issue, but unfortunately, we were unable to do so. It appears that the problem is quite specific to your individual WordPress setup and configuration.

In order to speed up our troubleshooting process, it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide us with a link to the page experiencing the issue. Additionally, any further information regarding your configuration would be helpful. Could you please provide answers to the following questions:

    1. Are you using the default Jitsi Meet domain (8×8.vc), or have you set up a custom domain?
    2. Are you employing BuddyMeet’s shortcode, or do you access the plugin through a BuddyPress / BuddyBoss group?
    3. Could you share the configuration of the plugin? This can be provided either through the shortcode or the group settings.
    4. Which WordPress theme have you installed?
    5. What browser are you using?

    Thank you for your assistance

    Hi,

This issue seems to be related either to an issue with the Jitsi Meet service itself or with the video/audio sharing permissions of your browser.

We suggest that you perform a fresh test from a private/incognito browser window by giving sharing permissions when you get asked; if the issue still persists, please report it to Jitsi Meet issues here.

    Thanks,

The BuddyMeet plugin is free and integrates the Jitsi videoconferencing tool into WordPress pages and BuddyPress/BuddyBoss groups. In order for the plugin to work properly, a Jitsi server needs to be configured using the “domain” setting.

Until today, the BuddyMeet plugin used the default Jitsi server provided by the Jitsi Team at meet.jit.si. However, the Jitsi team has made changes to their service usage and now restricts it for demo purposes only. To address this, we have released an update to the BuddyMeet plugin (version 2.2.0) that switches to 8×8.vc as the new default Jitsi server.

Additionally, the BuddyMeet plugin allows you to connect your own self-hosted Jitsi server. To do this, please check the “domain” setting on the plugin page.

Please update to the latest version of the plugin which uses the new domain 8×8.vc.
