there are two scenarios when hreflang is implemented.
If the URL of the alternate pages are predictable you can use a script and apply everything automatically. (E.g. https://example.com/post-1/ -> https://example.com/en-uk/post-1/)
If there URLs are not predictable (E.g. https://example.com/my-first-post/ -> https://example.com/it-it/il-mio-primo-articolo/) you can use a plugin like Hreflang Manager to manually enter the hreflang data. With this plugin the hreflang data can be added from the Connections -> Hreflang menu. To resume, if the URLs of the alternate versions are not predictable the hreflang implementation can’t be automatic.

The plugin has been updated to 1.09
The update includes the fix for that JavaScript error. Too see the changes please clear the browser cache.

if there are no errors to understand the specific issue in your environment one option is to manually create the database tables from phpMyAdmin or similar tools.
The SQL needed to create the tables is visible in the

I recommend proceeding as follows:
- Enable the debug by settings the WP_DEBUG constant to “true” in the config file (See : https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/)
- Set the
daexthefu_database_versionWordPress option to “0” - Install again the plugin
- Turn off the debug mode on the config file
- Share PHP errors or warning generated in PHP error log (remove personal or sensitive data before sharing these lines)

this plugin allows you to configure hreflang as HTML link elements.
The HTML link elements added to the page are based on the hreflang data added to the back-end, specifically on the Hreflang -> Connections menu.
The plugin doesn’t analyze and modify hreflang link elements added by other plugins or themes.

thank you for all the details.
I’ve inspected your site: When the Cookie Notice -> Mask option is set to “Disabled” the plugin can’t find an element of the page and generates that JavaScript error.
An update will be published this week to remove that JavaScript error. You can remove this error now (as a temporary solution before the update) by enabling the Cookie Notice -> Mask option.

the Restriction section of the plugin is not in the panel options.
This section is displayed only in the Block tab when a block is selected.
Please also check if there are JavaScript errors in the Console tab of Chrome DevTools to verify if other component are blocking the execution of the script used by Restricted Blocks.

The Hreflang Manager plugin doesn’t remove existing hreflang tags. These tag should be handled with the plugin or theme that added them.
From the Hreflang -> Connections menu you can at anytime configure (add, edit, delete) the exact hreflang data printed on the front-end. There are no calculated or automatic hreflang tags.

I tested the your page with iPhone 13 – OS 15.2 and Chrome and I can’t reproduce the specified behavior.
Please try clearing the cache on the specific device.
