Found and fixed the problem. The base DN field on the Server tab got erased for some reason. I repopulated it and now the information is coming in nicely. I hope that helps others.
I have the same problem as jason.barber. User Meta fields are cleared after they logon to the Intranet. Is there a solution to that? What’s the correct syntax for adding AD attributes like givenname, sn, displayname and mail into WordPress?

Thank you very much – It appears that the conditional statement worked!
I can now reach http://intranet/xmlrpc.php in a browser. This was also confirmed with the network sniffer.
I still cannot post from Word but at least I am hitting the correct URL.

Have you found a solution to that? I, too, would like to map Active Directory groups to WordPress roles/groups.
