Something similar just happened to me as well. Actually, it upgraded fine. I’ve been working on some pages and decided to view one live when I was greeted with:

I can’t even login to the backend.

I solved this problem by renaming my background image file to Bueno’s default bg image name as found under the theme’s style folders.
