In reply to: HOW CAN I EDIT MY PAGES *BEFORE* UPLOADING FOR THE FIRST TIME?Thanks, much appreciated!
Honestly, building my site locally using Xampp looks to be over my head. I got my default files set up on my c: drive but can’t figure out how to actually edit them. I have Dreamweaver and Mozilla but the whole reason I’m doing this is so I don’t have to deal with those apps any more! Ugh.
If I get the Thesis theme will it make it easier? Can I build it locally easier before I upload and replace my current css site?

In reply to: HOW CAN I EDIT MY PAGES *BEFORE* UPLOADING FOR THE FIRST TIME?Would you say it’s related to Nvidea cards and software? I believe I use that brand of video and sound card, and a number of startup items have NV in front of them and I’m too scared to turn them off…
NVMixerTray (startup)
NVMcTray (startup)
nvsvc32.exe (a system process in Windows Task Manager)…okay, I thought there were more, maybe there were before?
Thanks guys, you are the best.

In reply to: HOW CAN I EDIT MY PAGES *BEFORE* UPLOADING FOR THE FIRST TIME?It’s not listed in there (no kservice.exe nor kontiki!). Nothing resembling it is listed in my Startup apps.
And it won’t allow me to delete the kontiki folder in Program Files.
Bottom line, it’s still listed as taking up Port 80.
Any other ideas?

In reply to: HOW CAN I EDIT MY PAGES *BEFORE* UPLOADING FOR THE FIRST TIME?Thanks Figaro, I started following the steps in the second video, but I’ve run into a problem. Maybe you can help me.
I am unable to use Xampp properly, as when I run the portcheck.exe, it shows that my http port is not free, due to
some program named “KService.exe” within the “Kontiki” folder?Kontiki is apparently a video delivery app, but I
don’t remember downloading it AND it’s not showing up in my Windows Task Manager (processes – open applications)
or in the programs list in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS!If I can’t get my pc to recognize that it’s open, how can I close it?
I can see it fine in its folder…
C:/Program Files?Kontiki/Kservice.exe…but I can’t get these windows apps to acknowledge it.
HELP!!
d.
p.s. I assume I can turn on email responses to this thread? I’ll look in my settings, but let me know how you do it in case I can’t find it. thanks.
