In reply to: Identicons and WP 3.7I don’t have a solution (sadly) because I’m having the same issue, which makes me think it’s a bug. I only noticed it after updating to 3.7.

In reply to: [Plugin: Twitter Tools] Twitter update from post didn’t include link!My username and API were also correctly entered, but if this problem is just being caused by the URL shortener, I’ll disable the bit.ly plugin and see if it works. I do not have this plugin enabled on another blog, and it is correctly sending tweets.

In reply to: RSS feed not updating in readersI didn’t follow Donncha’s directions for implementing WP Super Cache properly, so I paid the price. My fault! The feeds are updating after I removed the plugin.

In reply to: wp rookie at rssDo you want to have an RSS feed in your sidebar? You can do that with a widget. You can add blogs manually through the dashboard. It sounds to me like what you’re trying to do is import a OMPL file, which you can create through a feed reader like Google Reader with an export. However, it also sounds like you don’t have such a file to import. I would add the links manually using the Write -> Link. If you want to subscribe to feeds, you will want to use a feed reader. I use Google Reader, but there are lots of others, including Bloglines, MyYahoo, Newsgator and Pageflakes.

In reply to: subscribe2 OR FeedburnerI just wanted to add that I decided to use Feedburner today after figuring out that Subscribe2 was responsible for my 500 server errors. I think it’s a good plugin, and I think my host was the problem (see this comment), but as it’s not feasible for me to change hosts right now, and I can get Feedburner to do the same thing, I decided to go with Feedburner.

In reply to: 2.6 classic image embedder missing?I used the button a lot. Although I can use the other method, I liked having both, and I wish WordPress hadn’t eliminated it.

In reply to: WP 2.6 Google Gears errorWorked for me, too. Thanks iridiax! By the way, for anyone coming by here with the same problem, I looked into it, and allowing blank referers is actually recommended in order to allow some visitors who are behind a firewall or antivirus programs to access the images on your site. See: http://www.htaccesstools.com/hotlink-protection/.

In reply to: WP 2.6 Google Gears errorYes, and I really don’t want to disable it. Is there a change I can make to .htaccess to make it work?

In reply to: WP 2.6 Google Gears errorFor the record, I’m having the same problem, and my permissions are set the same: 755 for the folder, 644 for the file.
