ERROR: Invalid username or incorrect password
However the credentials are correct, because once I deactivate the plugin the authentication works fine.

Yes I have set a different URL for the login page. All the other options on the brute force page are deactivated.

Thanks for your answer. But that does not do the trick.
Lets say, we have category x and y and I have assigned one post to both categories. Because i want to display this post in an overview on the frontpage (category x) and also on a more specific page (category y). Now in the overview parts it works fine, but as soon as i go to the single post view, both widget are assigned, because both widget meet the logic also when default No is set.
Do you understand my problem?
