    Hello,

The plugin does a number of connections to various API endpoints. If these connections are slow then that would slow down your site.

First, can you tell me which coin adapter you have set up and is the adapter status “Responding”?

Secondly, to determine the source of the problem, go to the “Wallets” -> “Exchange rates” menu and set the rates provider to disabled.

If this fixes the problem, this means that communication with the exchange APIs is slowing you down. Normally it shouldn’t. If you don’t need exchange rates, leave it disabled. If you do, try experimenting with different providers. Make sure that you have tor disabled unless if you are on a hidden site.

    regards,
    Alex

Did you change the language in the WordPress language settings?

Is the file readable? Check the ownership and permissions.

That’s all I can think of for now. I’ll try it out myself again and see if there’s any issue.

    Will get back to you.

Once you create the po file you can use it yourself.

You would only send it to me if you wanted to help the development of the plugin by contributing your translation. This is totally up to you.

Note that you need to rename the pot file to a po file.

Glad you got it working on your new server.

The capabilities will update when you go to Wallets -> Capabilities and hit “Save Changes”. Try this on your old site. There shouldn’t be a need to reinstall.

I will now close this issue. If you face further problems please open a new thread.

    regards

    Hi again,

I have modified the plugin, so that when it is network-activated, and you edit capabilities via the “Wallets” -> “Capabilities” menu, it applies your choices across the network. I think this should be what most users would expect.

This will be out in the next patch. The next patch will be released either today or tomorrow. So watch out for the changelog of the next release.

Thank you very much for reporting this issue.

    regards,
    Alex

If the UIs do not show, this could be because the user roles do not have the correct capabilities on the other site. This is a known issue. You could use another plugin for managing capabilities, but I think that this is likely the problem.

I will try to fix it soon, but in the meantime you can assign the capabilities yourself via any means. There are many plugins out there. Start by assigning has_wallets to subscribers in that second site and see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks for reporting. Let me know what you find. I will notify you when this is fixed.

OK. I assume you have already entered the UI shortcodes in a page that belongs to the second site.

Can you please describe what you see or provide a screenshot? Do you see the [wallets_transactions] shortcode in the second site? Does the shortcode show up? Is the table empty?

    thanks

OK make sure that the plugin is network-activated AND that you have not activated it at the site/blog level. The network admin should be the ONLY admin who has activated the plugin if you want users to share balances across sites.

    Hi again Ed,

What do you mean by “assign wallets”?

Users who have wallets are the ones whose role has the has_wallets capability, as detailed in the ‘capabilities’ section of the documentation. If you are talking about the Wallets menu in the admin screens, that should only be visible to the admin or network admin, depending on whether you network-activate, as discussed above. Have a look at the PDF documentation.

If your regular users can see the wallets menu in the admin screens then you’re doing it wrong.

    Hello Ed,

You’ve brought up two distinct issues:

    1. The plugin is fully translatable, but not translated. To translate it yourself, go to languages/wallets.pot and and copy the file to wallets_XX.po, where XX is your language code. Then edit the file and translate the strings. If you wish to contribute the translation you can send it in by email and Ι would be more than happy to include it in the next release.

    2. The plugin is indeed working just fine for a number of users who use it on multisite. If you network-activate the plugin, you will find the wallets menu in the network admin screens. This causes user wallets to be shared across different sites. If you want users to maintain different wallets across sites of your multisite install, simply don’t network-activate it and let individual site admins to activate it at the site level.

    Alex

    1. I think you may be confusing the total wallet balance with the individual user balances.

    2. People who use your site do not need a CoinPayments account. Whether you use CoinPayments or another wallet, all user currencies are stored in one wallet. The plugin then assigns one deposit address to each user and keeps track of user balances in your MySQL database.

Please either open a new thread as discussed above, or contact me directly by email at [email protected] so I can provide more clarification.

    kind regards

    Hello,

    1. The deposit shortcode is [wallets_deposits]. This shows the deposit shortcode for the currently logged in user. When you used the qr code, were you logged in as that other user? If you were logged in as administrator, it would make sense that the coins would go to the administrator account.

    2. Also, deposits from CoinPayments get accepted after being confirmed. This can take a while. Did you change coin adapters recently? If so, you’d need to clear the deposit addresses. This is detailed in the documentation.

These are all separate issues than the one you had earlier. Sounds like the problem with the deposits is about the coin adapter extension. Can we please continue discussion at the support forum for the adapter? If you think the problem is with the main plugin, please open a new thread here instead.

    Thanks.

    Give manage_wallets ONLY to administrators.

Give has_wallets to all user roles that should be able to use wallets.

    (@dashedslug)

    Great!

Do not give the manage_wallets permission to anyone other than the administrator(s). Only give the other permissions to regular users such as subscribers (has_wallets is the permission that controls whether you can maintain wallet balances)

    OK, what have you tried?

Menus and widgets are two different things in WordPress.

You can add a widget to a widget area only if your theme provides a widget area.

You can add the balances menu item into one of your WordPress menus and then you will have to display that menu in one of the menu areas in your theme.

You can give it a try with a standard theme like twentyseventeen first to make sure that the problem is not with your theme.

Also, check the troubleshooting section in the PDF manual for other reasons why the UIs may not show.
