Thank you for clarifying, I just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing something here. I started looking at plug-ins specifically to fix this problem, but it seems like a tough one to crack. I agree, it might be helpful for you to mention that embeds on iOS are problematic and there are no workarounds at this point, even with your plug-in.

I appreciate you taking the time to find those links for me at Google. At least I can add my voice to the chorus.

    Take care,
    Dave

    Hello EmbedPlus Team,

I apologize if my question was a bit self-contradictory, I haven’t gotten much sleep this week.

If I look at my pages that use your YouTube embed plug-in in a desktop web browser or with an Android device, the embed works fine. However, when I look at my pages with an iOS device, all I see is a static image of the video’s keyframe with a red YouTube play button overlay on it.

YouTube’s embed code that you get from their web site uses an iframe, and it produces the same result: a static image of the keyframe with a play button. My initial research indicated that iframes are not supported by iOS web browsers directly, so this is the expected result.

I dug down into the HTML delivered by your plug-in, and found that it has an iframe in it too. I was hoping that your plug-in solved this iframe problem and allowed YouTube videos to be embedded in WP web pages.

    Sincerely,
    Dave
