I’m having the same problem with mine. This has been a problem before but the solution provided prior to November 1, 2014 do not seem to working.
Setting it to 777 doesn’t work.
To remove the default text, just type in a couple of spaces in the text box in the Homepage (Content) box
I would also like to know this, but I want to link to a category.
