In reply to: [Amazon Associates Link Builder] The plugin crashed my siteI just checked, and although my site is still running with 1.5.2, I’m getting hundreds of error messages like these:
[05-Dec-2017 03:14:09 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /home/davidboo/public_html/transformationspress-test/wp-content/plugins/amazon-associates-link-builder/ip2country/aalb_maxmind_db_manager.php on line 94 [05-Dec-2017 03:28:13 UTC] Error in maxmind_db_manager:get_db:::WP_ERROR: Forbidden [05-Dec-2017 03:28:22 UTC] Error in maxmind_db_manager:get_db:::WP_ERROR: Forbidden [05-Dec-2017 03:28:26 UTC] Error in maxmind_db_manager:get_db:::WP_ERROR: ForbiddenI’m disabling the plugin until this problem is fixed, as it seems likely it will crash my site again at some point. My PHP version is 5.6.

In reply to: [Amazon Associates Link Builder] The plugin crashed my siteUpdate
When I checked my plugins, I saW that there was an update available to 1.5.2 from 1.5.1. I manually re-enabled the plugin and updated, and now things seem to work normally.
Has the above error been corrected, or is there some kind of memory leak or other cumulative error in the plugin that will cause another crash later on?
Thank you,
DavidI created a clean install of WordPress with only the default theme, your plugin, and Akismet, and then I viewed it in Opera (which uses the Chrome engine) with no extensions loaded. This was faster than writing down all my plugins and extensions in Chrome and created a clean “sandbox” environment to test the plugin.
I still can’t activate the current version of the plugin. So, browsers, plugins and extensions are not the issue.
This is the sole error I saw in the Console:
JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
aalb_credentials.js:2 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token )
admin.php:1 This page includes a password or credit card input in a non-secure context. A warning has been added to the URL bar. For more information, see https://security.googleblog.com/2016/09/moving-towards-more-secure-web.htmlThat’s really all I have time to do. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I have no idea what you want me to do. I can tell you that when I had the non-functioning version of the plugin installed, I use the Inspector to examine the Save Changes button, and after the words “Save Changes” in the Inspector were the words disabled=disabled. removing these words enabled the caused the Save Changes button to be clickable, though it still didn’t allow me to configure the plugin.
1. PHP version is 5.6.31
2. WordPress version is 4.8.3
3. I temporarily resolved the issue by reverting to an earlier version of the plugin, v1.4, which works fine. I was using 1.4.12.
4. Chrome 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
5. I also had the same issue with the current version of Firefox
6. Windows 7
7. I didn’t see any PHP errors related to the plugin in the log
8. I don’t know where to find the browser console log. I’m not a web developer.Still not working. What did you do to get it up and running? I’ve used up all the options I can think of.
Thanks!
DavidYes, I checked the box (and read the conditions of use). I tried checking it, unchecking it, refreshing the page with it checked, etc. The Save Changes button remains inactive.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Can't upload files to Media libraryNo experience with MySQL databases, but I do see an icon for accessing them. What is the database that the media library uses? And, when I find it, are there utilities I can find online to modify it? The CPanel applet for my host system seems to allow me only to check and to repair MySQL databases (and it doesn’t list anything that cries out to me it’s the WP Media Library database).
Thanks,
David
