Found the problem. The automatic link setup by the plugin did not work. I manually corrected it and the image came up fine. Likewise for the pdf file. Thanks for your patience and support.
I double-checked. The image link is to the image and the attachment is to the pdf file. After this one didn’t work I installed a different program’s plugin, going to the same image & pdf attachment, and it works perfectly. But I prefer your program over this one. So I deleted the Simple Download plugin twice and reinstalled it. The previously created Downloads web pages were still there. But still would not show the image inside the Downloads Edit in WP, neither did clicking on the website’s download button bring up my pdf file. Don’t know where the glitch is.
