It seems that although free, the service won’t be much good since they have implemented a 30-day delay in getting firewall rules and malware detection. Their fine print to get the free version:

“Our firewall rules block exploits targeting WordPress plugins, themes and core. Our malware signatures detect whether your site has been compromised. We release firewall rules and malware signatures in real-time to our Premium customers.

For less than $10 per month (paid annually) you can get real-time firewall rules and malware signatures as we release them. Are you sure you want the free version of Wordfence which receives firewall rules and malware detection 30 days later than our Premium customers?”

It seems pretty useless, now. I mean, a delay would make your site vulnerable for 30 days. Or, are they failing to communicate exactly what this delay means? Please let us know how free users aren’t left in the weeds. Thanks.

Wow, I hate it when people say that they resolved something and then offer no information. How useless is this? Gee, thanks – for nothing!

It should be a nifty checkbox, though, and in plain sight in the settings where normal people can come across it, instead of learning about it after it happens. On by default is not always a good thing, no matter how little you think of your users.
