    Hello,

I am experiencing two separate bugs related to meta descriptions and caching:

    1. Duplicate Meta Descriptions

    • Context: This was first observed after migrating two sites from RankMath. Ahrefs subsequently reported duplicated meta descriptions during its site crawl.
    • Temporary Fix: I resolved this temporarily by navigating to Meta Templates and deleting the default content in the Search Engine Description field, leaving it blank.
    • Secondary Glitch: After successfully removing the default content, I can no longer re-add it. When I try to use the @ shortcut to select and insert a variable, save the template, and then clear the cache, the field remains persistently blank.
    • Result: Despite the secondary glitch, the primary fix worked, and Ahrefs no longer flags duplicate descriptions.

    2. Meta Description/SEO Changes Require Manual Cache Clearing

    • Context: When I make any changes to a post’s or page’s SEO optimization, including updating the meta description, the changes do not take effect immediately.
    • Action Required: I am forced to manually clear the cache and refresh the page to see the changes implemented.
    • Observation: This behaviour is new. I have tested this on a fresh WordPress installation, and the issue persists, suggesting a system-wide change or regression since the last significant software update.
