I wound up having to deactivate the lightbox that came with my theme. Which explains why you didn’t see the issue.
I saw multiple threads talking about having to deactivate other lightboxes but what confused me was that the overlay was only happening in a POST … but not on a PAGE. This made me think it wasn’t the other lightbox to blame.
Anyway, I worked around the issue. Life goes on.
