    Renaming the file fixes the problem! All images are displaying in the site.
    What should I do at this point? Leave it this way or find the problem in the wp-content/.htaccess file?

    Medium is the plugin for https://medium.com/, to automatically cross publish posts to Medium platform.

    First thing I have tried to disable all plugins, and the issue still exists. So I turn them all back.

    Do you think Medium can cause the issue with the images?

    Thank you for your response. I see there are multiple .htaccess files in the public_html directory (.htaccess, .htaccess.cache.1520287077, .htaccess.cache.1520287077, .htaccess.cache.1520287077). Also there is one .htaccess file in wp-content directory.
    Which one do you need to see?
