I don’t think I’m gonna test that plugin which has not been updated for over a year. I trust more to repair the database via mysql. However, neither that nor reinstalling Woo has been successfull. I’m stuck now, because the issue is both on staging and live site, and I fear it cannot be fixed. I have also downgraded WP version with a plugin but the situation is stuck. This is Woo’fault, you can see again the shop page, please advice in details.

I have tried repairing it via my cpanel, to no avail. What happens if I reinstall WOO? Will I loose all my products/settings/categories/attributes?

But what do YOU suspect it is?

Hello again, I confirm this must be a corrupted database after latest WP (or Woo?) release, because you can see the issue persists with Storefront activated.

hello again, sorry but now I have this error: attempt to read property “post_count” on null in wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/widgets/class-wc-widget-price-filter.php on line 80

You can view the page here.

    Please advice. Thank you

The default language show in falang is the language you write your content in WP. It’s your site language

hi again, sorry but Falang insists on making up its own default language. It starts in English with a message “the site language (in Settings > General) is not the same set by Falang as predefined. You must modify your default language in Worpress settings” , I do change it but Falang still keeps the english and the error message-

UPDATE: I had to click to make the black star appear

hello, I was actually trying to create the same myself: make any button/text trigger the slider. I have tried to put #login in the URL link and it does work.

thank you for your attention. For some weird reasons, the problem went away overnight (though I had it both on my staging ad live site). I can’t explain how, maybe the database just needed to… make itself comfortable with the new version. πŸ™‚

….I’m simply going nuts playing around with Tutor! With all due respect, you really got a long way to go before you can call this a plugin that reflects the WordPress standards!

    • I have been able to get the demo xml file: I used Chrome for download, Firefox doesn’t work.
    • I still don’t understand why Instructor is in the same dashboard with Student. I really don’t get the point. Either you are an Instructor or a Student… as a matter of fact you login as one or the other, not both. πŸ™ You really have to explain the logic behind this.
    • I have been able to discover other shortcodes in order to build a page, but Tutor conflicts with my theme (one of the best sellers) and my footer/header are stuck in the pages where Tutor is. It also conflicts with Woocommerce default shop page styling (filters, lists, etc.).
    • you should put a “return to courses list” button in the dashboard, also in the Instructor/Student profile page, because users wouldn’t know the endpoints of the pages and cannot figure out to edit the URL in order to go where they wants.
    • I have tested some filters/actions you have in the Documentation, and they simply broke the site. Upon unistalling Tutor the whole Admin dashboard went blank! Luckily I’m testing on a staging site.

With all above said, I should warn all users of the very bad business model which is in place here: it’s not the classic “less features than the Pro“, rather “things are made complicated but if you go Pro they will be different“. Seriously, do you think I will go from Free to 200$ just to see how/if (for instance) adding a course to Woocommerce would go automatic instead of all that mess that is in the Free version?

I really hope you will change everything in 3.0. I’m not going to commit into this plugin until I have tested 3.0. Yet, it doesn’t seem that 3.0 is just around the corner, does it?

hello, I had asked for support but you didn’t really address the issues in details.

    • For instance you could start fixing your tutordemo.xml file which is corrupted (it redirects to a blank pdf file). Importing courses would help understand how Tutor works.
    • Then you could explain how to separate Instructor from Student login, like you have in your demo.
    • You must also explain why, after login, Instructor and Student are on the same dasboard… it really does not make sense. A Student can even create a course, and that’s just wrong.
    • I have asked you if it’s possible to install Tutor in a subdomain, as a stand-alone platform.
    • 3 shortcodes are not enough. I would expect a logic like Woocommerce where you have a shortcode for each task (myaccount, cart, payments, etc.) and you can insert them anywhere you like (it would help inserting Tutor modules in custom pages). I have seen many examples of websites where the course list is inside a normal page, but it is impossible to build one in my website (either Tutor is not compatible with Wpbakery or it simply is broken).

πŸ™‚ I actually like it also that the slider disappears once you are logged in. But people are bored and they like to touch buttons… and it feels like something is broken or left unfinished by the Admin. So maybe you could add the option in the backend. Though, I’m not a dev and if it will add unecessary resources, then I guess they (we) can live without it.

I was expecting some feedback, this doesn’t look inviting for buying a pro version. There’s no way of putting shortcodes into a Wpbakery html element, meaning that it’s not possible to customize a page; moreover there’s no way of integrating the dashboards into the Woo my-account page; and by the way, refreshing the page for just switching tabs it’s not nice for performance.

Oh, not to mention your xml demo data that redirects to a pdf !

    So far, a total failure.

hello, I apologize but I have removed the plugin and have decided not to use it. The reason is that it would conflict with the normal WP logic and my theme’s default Woocommerce options. I don’t mean that PMP is no good (I actually use it on another site) but my experience is that anything that overrides the default Wp/Woo subscription flow will always end up with conflicts (not to mention the many a dashboard that all these members plugins’ add-ons create).

    (@devsaredead)

….my bad, I was testing with one browser while logged in and with another while logged out. πŸ™‚ However, this made me discover that the slider/popup appears only to non-logged users. So, maybe you could add a small message like “you are already logged in”.

thank you for the speedy reply Stephane. Let me tell you about the strange thing about it:

I had tested Falang on a test website, where I did use Polylang before, and the error was not there (and I also updated todays release). I have now installed on the brand new production site and the error appears. No need for a screenshot, it’s just a WP default red message alert saying “The plugin generated 345 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice β€œheaders already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

I have unistalled and tried again, same result.

By the way, your plugin has now put my dashboard in English, thought the installation language was Italian, meaning that the default language now is stuck into English!

hi @maizul , I’m persuaded of TutorLMS, I just want to be sure it has no conflicts with my theme or whatsoever before committing into the Pro version. My theme is one of the most popular (Salient), and always updated, so it’s a surprise that I have problems like this one or this one.

I would think that adding builder Droip on top of the existing Wpbakery would just cause more risks of conflicts. Besides, I don’t really know how to use the shortcode mapper… it looks like it needs to enter them manually.

But really, instead of creating many pages isn’t it easier to be able to create a page like yours? Maybe TutorLMS can be installed on a subdomain and work independently from WordPress? (in that case it would make sense to have a dedicated theme).

    What do you reckon?
