It turns out the “could not copy file” error also appeared when I tried to upgrade WordPress itself, and further research showed this error message is nearly always due to the domain running out of disk space for unzipping the upgrade files. Raising the disk space ceiling on this domain fixed the problem, and both the new version of WordPress and Jetpack 11.5.1 installed fine. Thank you!

Oddly, the update to 11.5 worked on two out of the three of my domains where Jetpack is installed. But the third one no dice. I’ll wait for the promised point release 11.5.1 tomorrow and if it still won’t update, I’ll re-install the entire plugin.

In reply to: [Breadcrumb NavXT] Installing Breadcrumbs Nav XT on Thesis 2.1Good question. None of the custom php boxes to insert the navxt snippet worked for me. No matter what box I tried, there was no place for the custom code.
That worked. Will you be releasing an updated plugin?

In reply to: how to force update of RSS widgetHey I found this http://byrev.org/bookmarks/rss-feed-refresh-frequency-wordpress-widget/ and seems to work but it would be nice not to have to kludge the theme… any alternatives?

In reply to: WP-Super-Cache reverting to Half ONHmm. Sad conflict among two very important plugins. Based on experience with sites on non-WP platforms (Drupal) I don’t think I can afford to have bb disabled, so I’ve got to run wp-supercache in crippled mode (half on, no compression). I’m not sure I’m getting much speed-up, but at least bb is keeping the bots off the server.
Oh, and the error message language block-quoted above *IS* awful. Sorry.
How about
“You can’t run badbheavior if you also run wp-supercache in full on mode OR with compression enabled.”
OR
“To retain badbehavior functionality, you must disable wp-supercache compression AND turn off wp-supercache compression AND make sure badbehavior is in the directory …. ”

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.6 – Admin Login ProblemI upgraded a site in maintenance mode. cleared all cookies in safari.
wp-login works but then wp-admin redirects to the maintenance front page and does not give access to the admin screen that would allow me to turn off maintenance mode.
my .htaccess set to redirect all www. to URL without www. but same thing happens without the .htaccess.
