I had the exact same problem on my comic hardlyworkingcomic.com
From what I found the problem was that all fields needed to be filled, and when people weren’t leaving website URL’s or emails it was giving them this error. The two fixes I found are 1.) Require everyone to fill all fields out and make it known that is the policy. Or 2.) disable that requirement.
To disable it go to “Settings” on the left hand side of the Dashboard, and go down to “Discussion.” Make sure the button marked “mment author must fill out name and e-mail” is unchecked and save. That fixed the problem for me. Hope this helps!

Ok, got it going again.
In case anyone comes across a similar problem, here is my “fix.”
In the Dashboard I went to:
Appearance->Themes and Clicked Save Layout without changing anything. That’s all it took to reassert ComicPress Silver.
