It didnt work, except when I enabled the floating button. But then it only showed the floating button with the gear icon, which is not enough.
The GDPR banner you saw is from another plugin, a paid version, that targets businesses in the EU with all of the dedatiled information.
So, since I’m from the Eu and work with clients from the Eu, for me it’s not enough to simply get explicit consent.
Here is an in depth article that explains all of the nooks and crannies you have to be aware of with the new privacy and data law, even if you’re not based in the EU. Some of your visitors might come to your website and for those indiviuals you need a bullet proof, court ready, accountability showing plugin, which scans your site so you are informed about the things on your website.
Accountability is a big thing here in Germany. Not knowing doesn’t save you here. You’re supposed to know about the things happening in your territory.
After this rant, now the link:

So, I played around with the settings but with no avail. When I activate the floating button, however, the button shows beautifully. It is not enough, though. For the full protection I need the popup notification to avoid legal consequences.

I have the same problem on my website. The popup bar in the footer doesn’t show up. It used to but I can’t figure out what I did to make it disappear. I will play with the settings and se how it affects the display of the GDPR bar.
Until then I’d be more than happy to receive some hints to solve this quicker.
Thanky you in advance and thank you for creating this wp-plug. 🙂
