Version 8 release was the worst release every in Directorist history, and probably among wost releases in the entire WP ecosystem. It broke websites down for many people and did not offer any significant performance nor customization improvements. Your Bricks extension is half baked bunch of shortcodes that do not work with Bricks templating system. I have written many times and pointed to all the issues that v8 caused, and yet nothing has been addressed. As @neliro pointed out, Directorist is now a bloated and unreliable piece of software that does not offer customization options and comes with extremely poor and sluggish support.
People looking to build a directory site, will be better served with Voxel or GeoDirectory and should avoid Directorist at all costs.I agree that Directorist has become a nightmare ever since v8 update. I provided a plenty of feedback to directorist team and many other users have done the same, and all we get are empty promises. Just go through their Facebook page to read user complaints. I still have one site that I need to migrate away from Directorist to close this chapter. Support is terrible and they take days and weeks to reply with most useless responses.
If you want to build a directory site and are looking for out of the box solution, go for either Voxel or GeoDirectory and avoid Directorist and any product made by this team at all costs.Almost 4 weeks have passed since you posted your response, and none of the concerns I’ve brough up have been address. Directorist v8 is still a hot mess, full of bugs, and not working as advertised. Bricks Builder extension is still shortcodes and does not take full advantage of Bricks capabilities, customization options are not available, multi-directory sync is not working, extension plugins still need to be updated manually, etc.
At this point, Directorist is not a viable solution, and I suggest that users avoid it until the fixes and are implemented.
