We looked into the issue further and noted the htaccess file forced SSL was redirecting to RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]
We removed the www and all is fine now. Not sure why this issue has only occurred after the recent WP and Woo upgrades. Or possibly with the updated eWay plugin.
