Hi there,
Thanks for the update.
Regarding the amount of traffic to admin-ajax, this looks normal as the scanning process takes place in the background via small queued tasks – the queue size will depend on the amount of directories and files within those directories and as the processing of all the logic which detects changes takes place, admin-ajax is used to check if the queue has finished or not.
Now, with that said, reducing the load by excluding wp-content (as you have done from your screenshot here https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/xkdikoch2hlqdf52y8ti6/2024-12-27_13-50-34.png?rlkey=jwf674aol7zzl30h4hmt59jba&e=1&dl=0) should have helped – are you seeing a reduction in load now you have wp-content excluded from all scanning compared to your initial report? Are there further directories or such you can ignore?
Id like to dig in a little more (I am the developer of this plugin) so can you please email us at [email protected] so we can look into this further?
Look forward to hearing from you.

In reply to: [Melapress File Monitor] Plugin has been initialising for a weekHello @wyclef
Thanks for the update. Id suggest to first enable WP_Debug (for details on this please see https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/)
Once done, head to File Monitoring > Settings and under Logging and debugging and Purge all data using the provided option – this will re-init a scan which should in turn feed information into the debug log we can use
You can then email us at [email protected], attaching the debug information etc and ill be more than happy to investigate further.
Look forward to hearing from you

Hello @shmanich
Thanks for getting in touch, I am sorry to see you are having an issue here.
Its difficult to judge what could be the issue here from just the screenshot shown, however looking at the content of the image the actual ‘message’ part of it does not appear like anything which resides in our plugins codebase so id certainly like to take a closer look if that is possible.
Please can you email me via [email protected] where we can discuss this further and find the source of the problem here.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Kind regards, Daniel @ Melapress

In reply to: [Melapress File Monitor] There are 5 remaining areas to scan.Hello @skylight9345
Thanks for the update. Ill be happy to take a closer look so do drop me message on the email address supplied and we can investigate to see what the hold up is.
Just to clarify one thing if you could when you email, are scans totally unable to complete? As in, you no longer see changes?

In reply to: [Melapress File Monitor] There are 5 remaining areas to scan.Hello @skylight9345
The launch is indeed disabled during a scan, however you can always manually start/stop the process at any time via the setting found under Files Monitor > Settings https://i.gyazo.com/1d855d2ce79e1cc26481e5fc80d863a1.png
If you are experiencing slow scans, there are a number of things which could cause a scan to take a long time, for example on very large sites the comparison process can be time consuming as we run the process in the background to avoid causing any slowdown upon the server.
Much in this vein, ensuring your sites cron system is running correctly would help also, as our plugin relies on this for processing of the file scan.
Do you see any issues being reported with a plugin such as https://en-gb.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-crontrol/ running?
You’re welcome to email me at [email protected] and i’ll be happy to help further.

Hello @jonbdk
Thanks for getting in touch.
Looking into this, it seems your WP setup is having trouble getting a list of “standard” WP files used for comparison, however this shouldnt be throwing an error so thanks for letting us know.
Im unable to replicate any kind of issue however so could you please email me at [email protected] so I can forward you a patch which should address this.
Look forward to hearing from you – Daniel @ WP White Security
Hello @msbacademy
Thanks for using our plugin.
Although this kind of custom styling is not something we usually provide, you should be able to customize this with some simple CSS. Adding the following to your custom CSS area should help:
#lostpasswordform .c4wp_captcha_field { margin-bottom: 70px !important; margin-top: 0 !important; } #lostpasswordform { position: relative; } #lostpasswordform #wp-submit { position: absolute; display: block; top: 165px; }Which would give you this: https://i.imgur.com/dqNXhaN.png
I hope this helps. If there is anything else do let us know, and of course if you are happy with our plugin do consider leaving a review as these can really help us.
