I was using a plugin W3 TOTAL CACHE, by deactivating this plugin the problem got solved.

Thanks Vinod,
You saved alot of work, I had written some jscripts for the animation and a database connection using older versions 1. of jquery, changed them to latest and wala now it works fine. thankyou once again.
