– This plugin partially works in that it does remove the need to download the file, then upload it.
– It says tested with up to 4.8, but it worked in 5.0 for me.
– The downside is that to use it, you still need to exit the post you are writing/editing and go into the media library, use the upload tool, then navigate back to the post you were working on, and add from media library.
I’m starting to think that my ‘issue’ is actually more the expected/designed behavior of Gutenberg? Perhaps, I should post this as a feature idea in the other forum?
Looks like this plugin isn’t really compatible with WordPress 5.0+ … maybe something to do with Gutenberg? … I posted a little more detail on Github about how it’s broken. https://github.com/airani/wp-auto-upload/issues/50
