In reply to: [MultilingualPress] Is ‘hreflang=”en”‘ Not possible?I have finally cracked it, thank you!
Previously I had tried changed en-CA settings to the same as ‘English INT’ (‘en’ etc…) and it did not work.
Just now I tried changing the ‘Araraf’ language settings to ‘en’, ‘en’, ‘eng’ but left the wp_locale field empty and it has worked!

Perfect timing as the sites are due to go live today, thanks for all your support.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] Is ‘hreflang=”en”‘ Not possible?I have tried everything, but the English (Int) language always pulls through as ‘en-US’.
I have also tried editing various other languages in the Language Manager to ‘en’ but it always shows as en-US in the source code.
Do you have any examples of sites successfully utilising ‘en’ as a language variant? We are going live early next week so will need to change plugins if this one can not do it.
Thanks again for your time,
David

See image above, the main .com multisite (http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/ ) is configured for the ‘English (Int)’ language. When configured in this way either the http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/ OR http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/us/ pages show in the source, but never both (as the site thinks they are both en-US)
If I set the English (Int) site to any other language then it shows in the source code
rel=”alternate” hreflang=”en-GB” href=”http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/uk/”><link rel=”alternate” hreflang=”de-DE” href=”http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/de/”><link rel=”alternate” hreflang=”en-US” href=”http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/us/”><link rel=”alternate” hreflang=”bg-BG” href=”http://mangardev.yourbetasite.co.uk/”>
I also just tried setting the en-CA language to ‘en’ (the same as En (Int)) but the result was the same.
Thanks

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] Is ‘hreflang=”en”‘ Not possible?Hi Thorsten, that is great thank you. It is my first time using this plugin and I was surprised to not be able to use ‘en’ as a language variant. I look forward to your reply.
