My plugin version is 2.1.16. and my issue is resolved without roll backing plugin. just follow below steps :AS @apabiona mentioned
First, go to the registration form (edit)
find “Customize this form section” at right side, then change “Assign role to form “ to “Default”.Second, Go to wordpress website Setting >> general and change “New User Default Role” to desired user role(In my case it is subscriber).
Bingo!!

Hi,
I SOLVED this issue.
It happens some time when you remove existing plugin from FTP client like e.g. filezilla, winscp and upload again plugin folder by FTP client or install it from admin panel.
In such case go to the admin panel > menu and remove the menu items and add them again freshly.
It works for me.!!
