Thank you. Since the problem is intermittent, I may not know if this works for a few days. But I have fingers and toes crossed 🙂
Thank you! Just did this,
Should I toggle off the ‘disable cache’ button in the Edit feature too? I had turned this on.
Many thanks
Thank you for getting back to me. I had wondered if this might help. Never looked at this setting before. Is this what I would add (exactly?) to the Excludes: https://dalmenynaroomabushwalkers.org.au/members/
I notice that there is another option to disable the cache for my protected page. I took a screen shot but don’t know how to add it to my message so will try to describe: from the Dashboard – Pages – Members – Edit: on the right hand side, there is a panel where I can change the password for the Password Protect WP plugin. Beneath this, there are LiteSpeed Options, and the first option is a toggle off/on to “Disable Cache”. It defaults to ‘off’ but I can toggle on, and presumably that also excludes the page from the LiteSpeed cache? Many thanks for any help
@homoluluberlin – in another discussion thread created about the same problem, @king74007 has coded a zip file to replace the bug in Elementor 3.24.7. He has also given step by step instructions on how to install it (if you, like me, don’t know). The file and the instructions can be found in his profile, under ‘replies created’ if you can’t find the thread.
Thanks @king74007. Your instructions were helpful and thorough. I tested on a clone of my website and your zip file brought back all my captions. I have zero understanding of how this worked but thank you
Thank you @king74007. I appreciate your help. However, I don’t have any idea what to do with this file. I truly am a novice, with no coding and extremely limited website understanding. I have only made one website for my community group. I used Elementor as my page builder because it was easy to use and no coding was required. Without minute step by step instructions, I am no wiser to what to do, except hope that Elementor fix the bug that is affecting their carousel widget.
hi. I have the same problem on my community website. I have Blocksy theme and Elementor plugin. Captions have disappeared from all image carousels after the Elementor update from 3.24.5 (which was fine). Both 3.24.6 and 3.24.7 cause the captions error on the live website, although I can still see them when logged into the dashboard. I can’t code and I’m an elderly novice. My only solution was to roll back to the older version of Elementor plugin (back to 3.24.5) so captions are again showing. Is there anything more I can do that doesn’t involve altering code? Otherwise, Elementor has been a great plugin for me. Thanks for any help
I have exactly the same problem. I have Blocksy theme and Elementor plugin, both free. It is community website and I am a novice volunteer looking after it. All the captions for my carousels (free widget) have disappeared on the live website this last week, even though I can see them when logged into the WP Dashboard. I have spent a long time trying to work out why, and isolated the problem to an Elementor plugin update from version 3.24.5. In other words, no problems with 3.24.5. But both updates 3.24.6 and 3.24.7 cause the missing captions problem.
I worked around the problem by using WP Rollback plugin and going back to earlier Elementor version but it is a temporary solution. So at the moment, captions are back.
I can’t code and only just understand the language of websites. But is there anything I can do?
