Found the solution, it was a stupid mistake on my side – Croatian translations don’t end as hr_HR, just hr.

I can confirm that I have found the same conflict. All plugins updated, all checked, and WPML translated homepage link in menu bar only works when NextGen Gallery is deactivated. There is a conflict so please I would like plugin authors to inform us on what to do with this issue?
