I have the same problem, and I have found the problem is “Simplelightbox” in Other Options > Lightbox Effects. I have tried all of the other options, and “Simplelightbox” is the only one that has image captions.
Will this problem be fixed? Or do I need to start over, again, with a different plugin?
Also, while I’m asking, I’m not sure if this is a theme issue, but the Simplelightbox caption displays OVER the bottom of the image. Is there a way to make it display UNDER the image?

Seriously? I have to convert hundreds of PNGs to JPGs to use this plugin?
Another problem I have had that’s really odd is gallery A is displaying images from gallery C.
