Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Large files timing out during uploadI have found another way to upload the 9.58 MB Divi file past a 2 MB WP limit without using any php coding. Use cpanel.
I did this for Divi.zip. My guess is that it will work with other files larger than 2MB. The key is knowing exactly which subdirectory to be in when you hit Upload. Here is how I did it.
1. Download Divi.zip onto your computer as Divi says.
2. Open up the cpanel associated with your WordPress site.
3. In cpanel, navigate to the wp-content/themes/ subdirectors for your site.
4. In cpanel, use the Upload function of cpanel to upload the Divi.zip file into wp-content/themes/.
5. Right click on the Divi.zip file now shows up and select Extract. It will want to put it in a Divi subdirectory, so the address will be your site name followed by /wp-content/themes. Let it do it.
6. Wait until it finishes extracting the zip file. I did it for two different sites and one was quick and the other seemed to take over an hour. Nevertheless, let it finish. It will create a new subdirectory Divi into which to extract it.
7. This loads Divi into your WordPress site. Now go to your WP dashboard for your site. Open Appearance and them Themes. Divi will be there as a big purple rectangle with a white D in a white circle. Check out the Theme Details or Customize it or Activate it or whatever. The rest is up to you.
