In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Error while updating plugin, breaks siteI enabled a debugging plugin and it did log two entries, but I’m not sure if it had anything to do with visiting the page because it referenced a PHP notice from the plugin “Duplicator”. So I went through just in case and deactivated it, but it didn’t fix anything. Then I went through and one by one deactivated any plugins that optimize images; still nothing. So I changed my Avada theme to the default WP twenty twenty four to see if it was the Avada them problem and suddenly it broke the website. I had to go back in the FTP access and deactivate the Events Calendar again. Once I went back to the Avada theme, the website came back online and then something very strange happened. I decided to reactivate the Events Calendar just to see if it would break again, but it didn’t. And now the events page displays properly. It seems everything is working how it should. I can’t explain any of this, but I’m hoping it was a permanent fix.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Error while updating plugin, breaks siteAnother update today. I activated the plugin after clearing the one expired transient and cleared the website cache. From that point on it didn’t crash the website anymore, but as you can see on the webpage, the graphics and icons are sized far too big and not displaying properly. https://benhansen.com/events/. This is the only webpage having that problem so I’m certain it has something to do with the plugin. Then today I saw that there was an update to the plugin and I ran the update, but the graphics problem still persists.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Error while updating plugin, breaks siteThank you for the follow-up. I was only just now able to look at the link. I’m afraid I don’t know what I’m doing with the transients. I only found one that was expired and I deleted it, but then it showed back up again right away. Should I delete all of them? All the other say they are “persistent”.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Error while updating plugin, breaks siteIt looks like I’m now able to update the plugin so I can’t see the error message anymore. But when I go to activate the plugin in the dashboard, it goes back to the same loop that exceeds the memory capacity.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Error while updating plugin, breaks siteIt looks like it started back up again. It took about a day last time too, but the plugin has exceeded my memory resources trying to call up a file it can’t find and it shut down all my websites on that server with a 503 error code. I had to deactivate it.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Error while updating plugin, breaks siteFingers crossed, but that seems to have worked! It took a few minutes last time before it triggered a fatal loop that called up all my memory resources and shut down all my websites on that host. But for now, everything seems to be running smoothly after installing the plugin manually. I deleted the old version through the FTP and activated the new one. I’ll chime in if it breaks again, but so far so good. Thank you!
