In reply to: Site disappearedYou’re probably right, but there’s no such info on these really harmless sites. I think a lot of these sleazeoids just get off on wrecking other people’s stuff. Sort of like trashing a little kids sand castle. Anyway, Hostgator cleaned out the system and it’s functioning well – for now. Thanks to all who offered help.

This is my 2nd WordPress site to go down in flames; believe me, my original site was NOT hooked to anything in Russia. Now what? I can’t make any changes because I can’t access the dashboard, either.

In reply to: Site disappearedThe document was successfully checked as HTML 2.0. This means that the resource in question identified itself as “HTML 2.0” and that we successfully performed a formal validation of it. The parser implementations we used for this check are based on OpenSP (SGML/XML).
Still won’t open. Pardon me if I’m a little crabby, but I’ve been trying to deal with this for the better part of 2 days. Worse, I can’t even get into WordPress to start another site.

In reply to: Site disappearedOK, I read it. The site worked perfectly until it just stopped. I have no clue as to what Mozilla is talking about – as I suspect is true of 99% of the population. Thanks for you help, but it still doesn’t open.

Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
Cleared the cookies; tried another server. I know the site is there because it flashes up for a second before it’s covered by the “too many redirects.” message. Can’t get anybody at WordPress to deal with this.
