In reply to: 404 error registering new usersOk so I reinstall wordpress from the dashboard/updates/reinstall and I can register a new user.
However the site failed to send me an email with my password in it. I can see the user is in MYHSQL but the passwords are encrypted. Any ideas on what I need to get it to send email?
I’m playing with the smtp settings in IIS

In reply to: Can't access the database.Thanks for all the advice, in the end I created a new mysql user and gave it rights to the database. I then used that rather than root and there were no problems!
I thought I should let you all know, and yes the database field wants the schema name!

I’m not sure I’m setting the right database name, what I have noticed is that if I set databasehiost to 192.168.1.100 then it at least appears to try to connect, on localhost it erros straight away!
