Hey, Thank you very much @gappiah for the help!
(I did explain too much in that email.)
There really is no easy way into this new wordpress but you are 100% right I need a blank starter template kind of thing. But, starting with OceanWP, this is seriously too complicated. Installing the “Simple theme” for Ocean requires 10 more add-ons and stuff. Navigating all the WP design tools and those built in and OceanWP “is” contradictory.
In terms of design, I need a theme which is bare bones. I am trying to make very basic design changes for the whole site and very basic custom design for the home page. But the OceanWP. Does this even exist anymore in the WP universe? It did six years ago.
I am very technical but this is pretty complicated.

In reply to: Can I instal a second blog in a subfolder?thanks jd
ah! thanks Otto. That’s subtle.
In response to the preceeding comment;
This utterly rocks! Will it be working its way into the self-hosted version?

Yes, if you run the stats plugin.
hey ravi,
Is that deductive reasoning? Or, did you hear that somewhere?I just want to establish the strongest system for a schools website I am working with. The wp.me model being owned by Automatic – and integrated into Automatic’s plugin – is best by my estimate. I don’t want my shorturl system company owner to go out of business suddenly – as happened this month.

In reply to: turn off comments on pages by defaultThanks guys.
Anyone know how to make this default?
un-check
the comments check box
on pages only
I need to be able to turn it on sometimes with the check box.

In reply to: turn off comments on pages by defaultI just want to turn it off by default…on pages only. I want blog posts to have comments by default but not pages. The checkbox has a checked by default. I want it un-checked by default for pages.
I am using the hybrid theme framework. That theme has a page.php which has this only this referring to comments
<?php comments_template( '', true ); ?>Is something in there putting a check in the box or does that exist somewhere else in wordpress?
We are going to be making lots of pages with nubies.
Thanks!
