In Gutenberg editor, you add a ‘block’ for a new type of content, eg headline, image, paragraph. It will also automatically create a new block when you hit return for a new paragraph. It is like a page builder.

That had occurred to me. I was about to clear my cache when they started working again. I will need to keep monitoring it. Thank you for your response!
