Thank you so much, I can confirm that this does work. I did have a plugin (WP Defender) that kept removing the code (once applied) and only after this plugin was removed did it work.

Thank you for the support, I really appreciate the help!

Tweak: can leave guest mode OR guest optimisation ON — but not both, for the menu to work. This hits the speed pretty substantially [bye bye green] but improves on the basic preset. If there’s a way to keep this “ON” it would be ideal since it is really a ‘win’ for page speed. This is the only work-around I have found opposed to default (slower).

Sure, as initially shared the Basic preset works (just bad [red] page speed). Same applies for default. It’s the Advanced Preset that has helped speed up my site (kudos!) but there’s the issue with the mobile menu functioning. Is this a known bug/error that prevents some sites from working? I was really hoping for a work-around so I could still benefit from increased page speed since the other preset and/or default setting doesn’t have a positive impact on my site. Thanks again!

This is something I had trouble-shooted with prior and switching them all on/off (page optimisation) but didn’t work. I’ve gone ahead and done all CSS, JS, HTML options and still nothing. The mobile menu will show on the home page, but the ‘image’ in the header only shows after you’ve scrolled down then up (I’m okay with this). But you need to click on the menu icon twice — there is no response with first click (issue). Then once you get the menu to open and head to another page (fine). When accessing the menu then from a page other than the home page, there is no response (issue). Problem appears to be with the header and the menu not responding.

Hi @qtwrk sorry for the misunderstanding. I’ve gone ahead and rest to default settings and updated the plugin with the latest version (today) and it looks like it has fixed the issue? This is great although would be even better to know what happened to cause this out of the blue 3 weeks ago (without playing with / changing settings).

Thanks so much for being super prompt!

Hi there, sorry I just activated the plugin again to get the link/report as I had to deactivate to get my mobile site working again. When it was activated everything was turned off, that’s why I couldn’t figure out after reviewing the forum to troubleshoot etc. I can go ahead again and turn things on/off but it was only a few days ago now where it didn’t work and when activated the plugin stops my mobile menu from functioning.

Update: this may help others, I hope, with any future issues. The culprit after an exhaustive period of troubleshooting, is a known issue with Litespeed plugin. Irrespective of the steps they share to fix this, it would not fix the mobile menu. This is very odd as it was only a ‘new’ issue that had never previously happened, so I’d say something along the lines with both theme (here) and plugin updates something hasn’t quite gone right and left us with broken mobile menu’s that was/has been very complicated in tracking down.

Update: I’ve done theme and plugin conflict tests and exhausted all avenues and possible combinations. Finally, I tried the old release version (even after updating with today’s latest release, hoping it would be a fix). Same issues have persisted until the old version 4.3.0 and now the mobile menu is working.

    Hi Saif (@babylon1999),

Following up to see if there is another tweak since it looks like this issue is different to @bikram00 but shows the same error with the mobile menu not working?

    Thank you so much.

    Hello @babylon1999

Thank you for the help! I’ve tested this option and no, it doesn’t work. If you select primary and handheld the ‘freeze’ still remains. If you just select primary (for the handheld menu) then the menu shows on mobile and you cannot close it (i.e. it drops down and you can’t move it).

This happened I’m pretty surer close to when the theme was updated so my next action was simply to revert to the old version until this is fixed. But hopefully it can be.

For some reason you can touch on mobile and nothing happens (to the drop down menu). Desktop is fine, but something funky has happened with the mobile menu to prevent it from showing as it should.

Help would be marvellous! Thanks so very much.

We have the same problem that popped up randomly within the last 24hrs. Only on mobile menu (some pages sporadically work then break). Desktop is fine but mobile menu drop down is broken. Please fix.

Thank you very much 🙂 Bounces to homepage now 🙂 Would be super down the track if went to ‘restricted content’ display or similar.

Thank you for the help Boone! 🙂

    Hi David,

Thanks — apologies, Pro version is being used.
Yes — disabled the feature (no protection now)
Tested to see if helps but problem persists?
Note, admin can ‘get to’ page without issue, but non-admin and non-author issue persists?

No problem > Membership2 — though I haven’t picked up an issue here, rather with the permalink bouncing between the two types; I say this only because anyone with access, needs a membership, and its only happening with author-only, but if an issue with the plugin I’m more than happy to report that then in turn to the plugin devs — thanks Boone!
