You can make a site similar to the one you have mentioned.
I’ll suggest you first learn WP templating then it will a piece of cake to make a new website. Also, you can use various plugins to make a shopping cart.
I was facing the same issue.
Deactivated all the plugins and reverted back to the default theme.
Now its working fine.
