I would be happy to beta test your new feature. Let me know when it’s ready to go.
Many thanks!
Hi John,
Thanks for the detailed reply. You are correct that the relevant forms are on my home page (the bots have only gotten into my Prime Ski Racing e-book form at this point).
I would love for you to guide me through the steps to insert javascript into my home page. Again, given that I’m no code wizard, you would have to provide me with very detailed instructions beginning with how to get into my home page code. If it’s easier, feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
Much appreciated,
Jim
PS. If I’m done, can I remove the captchas I am currently using to ward off bots?
Hi John, Thanks for the heads-up on EHP. I just installed it, created an account, and connected to it. But I’m unclear whether I am finished or I need to add that short code. If the latter, can you provide me with very detailed and clear instructions on where I can add that short code? I manage my own WP site and am pretty savvy, but not when it comes to coding.
Thanks, Jim
Unfortunately, I don’t know what either of those are. But I checked my plug-ins and no description related to caching. :-{ What does your question refer to?
I did figure out the captcha issue! I was enabling captcha in the wrong forms (I have two different, but connected, web sites). Once I enabled it in the correct form, problem solved: http://www.drjimtaylor.com/4.0/
As for the multi-select issue, any ideas? I use the modal dialog plug-in for the pop-up: http://ylefebvre.ca/wordpress-plugins/modal-dialog/. I’m open to other suggestions for good pop-ups that would allow the multi-select option.
I thought I replied 15 mins. ago, but don’t see it. So, I’ll try again. I did enable captcha in the specific form and then, just to be sure, I enabled it in global settings as well.
Just to be sure we’re on the same page, metaphorically and literally, the form that has gotten spamboted (sp?) is the Prime Ski Racing e-book form down on the home page itself, not the pop-up form.
Speaking of pop-up forms, you agree completely about your “fill out 2 forms” thought. I just couldn’t figure out how to do a multi-select option. Advice on that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time…
Thanks for the fast reply, Nick! Which link are you asking for?
Here’s my home page link: http://www.drjimtaylor.com/4.0/. If you scroll down, you’ll see Prime Ski Racing e-book. It is this form that has been getting spamboted (sp?).
Very much appreciated for the assist!
