Dear Julian,
Thank you for your patience.
We’re happy to inform you that the issue with watermark transparency has been resolved. The watermark is now applied correctly with full transparency support.
Please make sure to update the plugin to version 1.2.4.Regarding WebP files, there is an important technical limitation to clarify:
If an image has already been uploaded as WebP without any conversion, the plugin will not reconvert it again to WebP, and therefore the watermark will not be applied in that scenario.Currently, watermarking works when converting from WebP to AVIF, in which case the watermark is applied correctly.
For standard formats such as PNG, JPG, and JPEG, watermarking works as expected.Thank you for reporting the issue and helping us improve Dropavif.
Best regards,
Dropavif TeamDear Julian,

I have already passed this information to our development team. They will investigate the issue with the transparent background and the WebP format support as a priority to find a solution as quickly as possible.
We truly appreciate your contribution and your help in improving the plugin. We will get back to you with more information as soon as the fix is ready.

Thank you as well for reporting the issue with the watermark not being generated on upload. Will review it carefully on our end to identify the cause.
We’ll get back to you as soon as we have more information or a solution. In the meantime, if you notice any additional details (specific file types, sizes, or settings), feel free to share them with us — it will help us speed things up.
Thanks again for your feedback and support.
Best regards,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review — I truly appreciate it. Your feedback means a lot, especially knowing how many optimization plugins you’ve tested over the years.
It’s wonderful to hear that DropAvif felt refreshing and effortless for you right from the start. The fact that it handled over 500,000 images smoothly on your large, content-heavy site is incredibly encouraging. Hearing that it ran reliably with no throttling, no crashes, and no hidden limits really reassures me that the plugin is delivering exactly what it was designed to do.
I’m also genuinely glad that the AVIF quality and performance improvements exceeded your expectations. Seeing noticeable boosts in PageSpeed and LCP — especially after trying for so long — is exactly the kind of result I hope users get.
Thank you again for your kind words and the solid 5/5 rating. Feedback like yours truly motivates further improvements. If you ever have suggestions or need anything, I’m always here to help!
