It looks like the sellwire SSL is the problem as @drmikegreen says.

I’ve changed the source from ESV to ABS and this works! The chapter AND text appears in KJV.Perhaps the issue is with the ESV API?

Here’s the shortcode:
[bible-reading-plan source=”ESV” reading_plan=”discipleship-project-year2″]I’ve also tried using other sources and pre-supplied shortcodes from your plugin and they all produce the same issue – chapter headings but no text.
