In reply to: comment approval troublesThanks for this tip! That was apparently what the problem was for me, too. A shame; I liked the plugin.
Okay. I see that the functions.php file I needed to change was in wp-includes, and not in my theme. I am still confused about the links to all the Mike Myers movie stuff which doesn’t show up in my blog anywhere, though.
AND….every time I replace the current functions.php file with the one which came with the theme, it reverts back to the one I just deleted.

In reply to: Problem restoring database from sql fileThis may sound really stupid, but how can I tell if my posts are there? I clicked on that table, and there are a lot of options there, such as post_author and post_date and so on. I’ve never had to do this before, so I am really lost and just followed the directions as best I could.
I’m also not sure about how to update permalink structure. If by that you mean updating my blog to the permalink structure I had before, I have done that.
Thanks so much for trying to help!

In reply to: Automatic Upgrade with 2.7.1 — problemI deleted the WPAU plugin altogether, and SP *STILL* won’t upgrade for me. I guess I’m going to have to do like I did every time before 2.7, and just download and completely reinstall the entire thing, and hope I do it right.

In reply to: Automatic Upgrade with 2.7.1 — problemI had a fatal error when trying to upgrade as well. I followed the suggestion here to deactivate the WP Automatic Upgrade plugin. Now, when I upgrade from the ‘tools’ selection on the dashboard, I get this message:
Downloading update from http://ww.wp.xz.cn/wordpress-2.7.1.zip
Unpacking the core update
Could not create directory: /home/qselpkpt/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/core
Installation Failed
I have no idea what to do now. I always screw something up when I have to do a complete re-install. And I’m going to be very upset if I have to do a complete reinstall every single time there’s an upgrade.
Does anyone understand the message I posted above? Should I just create that directory myself?
Thanks so much!

In reply to: Post via emailI’m bumping this, because I am having the same issues as diannewandruff, and it’s so frustrating! I have followed everything to the letter. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has worked thus far. The troubleshooting suggestions don’t even mention the problems I’m having (the 404 error & “nothing found for installdir wp”.
I even tried to install the Postie plugin, and that didn’t work, either.

In reply to: Is 0.5 compatible with WP 2.3.2?I realize it’s my error; I just can’t figure out what I did wrong. It worked for me before.

In reply to: Is 0.5 compatible with WP 2.3.2?Hm. I’m not sure what the problem is, then. I *do* have it installed and activated. Thanks for your response.
