Thank you Michael for the quick fix!
Uninstalling and reinstalling 1.5.2 after upgrading from 1.5.1 did the trick and the plugin is working again.
Has anyone tried upgrading from the 1.4 branch to 1.5.2? Does this also require a full uninstall / reinstall?

Tried, deactivating / delete / fresh install as well as simply deactivating / reactivating, no luck…
