Thank you @duncanmcc for pointing that out. I had the Advanced Settings turned off so I didn’t see the setting for plain emails. It’s all good now 🙂

The solutions didn’t work for me, however, I did find a workaround. Inside Elementor, if you leave the link field blank and wrap the text field with a "<a href="mailto...> tag, the icon and email will be on the same line. At least it worked for me.
I’m getting the same error. As a test I did a fresh install of WordPress 5.6.1 and installed the Classic Editor as the only plugin. Every time go into a page from the dashboard and then exit without changing anything I get the “Changes you made may not be saved error”. When I deactivate the Classic Editor plugin I no longer get the error.
I tried the same test with WordPress 5.5 + Classic Editor and I don’t get the error.
