Problem solved, Thanks Moshu!! 🙂
while reading through some of the other posts there was a suggestion to add a .htaccess file. I followed that and thats what was causing the 500 error.
After changing the permalinks to default and then back again all is working! 🙂

thanks for your reply moshu. I went to do it and now im getting a 500 internal server error…. Why is this happening to me!!! :)I am assuming its not my fault but the hosting providers? I have emailed godaddy see what happens..
