issue is fixed.i just found a bug in my css that led to the problem (even though it had nothing to do with the off canvas panel).

disabling the “optimize CSS” feature fixes the issue. The off canvas panel is a menu (mostly used for mobile devices).
generatepress uses this type of menu on their website itself.

Ok, then it’s strange why it did not work. I ended up using the option to exclude the individual pages at the end because I couldn’t get it to work using the code from above.
