Thank you! Yes, that worked great. Can’t believe I didn’t think to try the transparency on the various parts.

Hi,
I have managed to hide the dots. I was hoping to hide the space normally occupied by the dots so I can use a coloured background. At the moment, if I use a black background, it appears as an empty band along the bottom of each image on mobile and along the whole row of images on desktop.
I am working on a staging site so the carousel is not yet on my main site. Sorry! The carousel can be seen here: staging.patrick-ryder.art
Kind wishes – Patrick

In reply to: Why are my global colours an error?Thank you for the reply.
Yes, I am aware that this forum is not for commercial products. The fact that the error was shown in a second place in WP – one that does look like a standard WP UI – meant that I wasn’t sure if the parsing was being done by Divi or something in WP.
Interestingly, even the first completely syntactically wrong version seemed to work in the rendered web page.
I’d like to find a third-parts CSS editor, to see if that flags the syntax as an error.

In reply to: Why are my global colours an error?Thank you for the correction.
Oddly, it still shows as a syntax error. There are two places the global CSS is shown in the Divi theme I am using – the Theme Options and the Theme Customiser.
The Options screen looks like a Divi UI, so I contacted them about it. They said their parser may be lacking and failing to recognise legal syntax (seems a bit rubbish).
The Customiser looks like a standard WP dialog so I’m not sure what code is responsible for parsing this – either the Divi Theme or a standard piece of WP code. In either case, it shows as a syntax error here too and I can’t publish from here without clicking a checkbox to say I take responsibility for a possibly breaking edit.

In reply to: Can I add to Media Library from uploads/ folder?Thank you, Lisa. I don’t much like the sound of all the warnings on it but I may give it a try.
I guess the fact that the plugin author basically tells me to use the WP importer means that I should probably be doing that, even if it does take a while and I end up with a different folder tree online to my local one. Got to admit that, after years of development, I am disappointed WP doesn’t offer more control over this stuff. It seems ridiculous that I have to live with a one-size-fits-all online folder tree.

In reply to: Ghost Page Does Not ExistHi @ipstenu ,
You are quite correct – I do have an ‘artwork’ category and the theme (my own, created in Divi) was set to show this in the menu. Unticking this caused it to vanish.
One thing I am unclear about (and may be a question for Divi) is how I would go about styling this page, since it doesn’t appear in the normal list of pages.

In reply to: Page Builder Theme ConfusionThank you for the reply.
I’ve followed your suggestions – with the exception of checking the HTML. I’m not sure yet what a ‘normal’ amount of HTML/CSS/JS would be for a typical WP theme so don’t know if my theme is doing well against that metric.
I went with Blocksy, which seems to do pretty much everything I want, is regularly updated and a reasonable price.
Thank you for the advice.

In reply to: Posts Page Not Showing PostsThank you both for the replies.
I had done some of what is described in your replies but somewhere along the way I broke things. I have gone through the steps from scratch and now everything is as I would expect.
Thank you for the help.
