Turned out to be an issue that we believe was related to MAMP. As MAMP was turned off and then turned back on, and MYSQL server wasnt running SO…
1.) We quit the MAMP application
2.) opened Terminal and ran the following command:
ps -acx
this brings up a list of processes currently running
3.) looked for the mysqld process running in the list of processes and ran the kill command on it:
kill 12345
(replace 12345 with whatever PID is associated with the mysqld)
we were then able to get back to the dashboard and resolve whatever issues with user emails and things of that nature.
Back to working on the sites.
