@andlin02 Thanks for sharing your solution here publicly. I haven’t had much luck with translatepress support either. The only answer I got was “Just deactivate ‘Force language in custom links’ and use short codes to manually translate all your links” – I think we all see that this is no option.
I followed the instruction you received from translatepress, created the plugin, installed and activated it but the trailing slash is still added to the end of my TP generated links. Is there something I may have missed or need to pay extra attention on?
My main problem is that the trailing slashes break my download links and lead to a 404 page instead. Apparently having download links on a website is a – quote “special case” that can obviously be neglected.EDIT:
I found a solution that works for me. Solution explained here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/pdf-download-link-changes-url/
This way I can exclude the path that contains my downloadable assets from being affected when ‘Force language in custom links’ is set to YES.
What I do not understand is why the TranslatePress ‘Do not translate certain paths’ option does not work the same way… Anyway I’m glad I finally got it going- This reply was modified 3 years, 2 months ago by elioonwordpress.
